  • Accidental injuries only (e.g., traffic accidents, burns/electrocution, falls, poisoning, bites, fractures, GDV, foreign bodies).
  • Consultations, hospitalisation, diagnostics, anaesthesia & surgery are covered within the annual limit.
  • No waiting period for accidents. Excess: Nil. Multi-pet discount: 5%.

Comprehensive

Annual limit: KES 100k / 150k / 200k
  • Accidents and illnesses (30-day waiting period for illnesses; no wait for accidents).
  • Per-item sub-limits for consults, hospitalisation, diagnostics, surgeries, meds, implants, vaccinations, emergency boarding, and farewell care.
  • Excess: Nil. Multi-pet discount: 5%.

Which pets are eligible for cover?

Cats and dogs aged 8 weeks to 8 years that are microchipped with an ISO-compliant chip (ISO 11784/11785) and listed on your Certificate of Insurance.

Do I need vaccination records to start cover?

Yes. Valid proof of up-to-date vaccinations is required before activation.

Is there a waiting period?

No waiting period for accidental injuries on either plan. Comprehensive includes a 30-day waiting period for illnesses.

What’s the difference between Accident-Only and Comprehensive?

Accident-Only covers accidental injuries (e.g., traffic accidents, burns/electrocution, falls, bites, poisoning, fractures, GDV, foreign bodies) within the annual limit.

Comprehensive covers accidents and illnesses with defined sub-limits for consultations, hospitalisation, diagnostics, surgeries, medicines, implants, vaccinations, emergency boarding, and farewell care.

How do I make a claim, and how long do I have?

Your vet completes the official claim form and attaches supporting documents (invoices, medical records/diagnostics). Submit within 30 days of treatment.

When is pre-authorisation required?

For any treatment exceeding KES 10,000. Emergency cases are reviewed case-by-case, and must be reported within 24 hours.

Are pre-existing conditions covered?

No. Conditions with signs, symptoms, diagnosis, or treatment that occurred before your policy start (or reinstatement) are excluded.

Do you cover elective or cosmetic procedures?

No. Elective, cosmetic, and preventive procedures (e.g., tail docking, ear cropping, routine dental, spay/neuter) are excluded unless specifically required due to an insured event involving reproductive organs.

Can I pay monthly, and will my premium change at renewal?

Yes—pay monthly by direct debit or annually (annual payments receive a discount). Premiums and terms may be adjusted at renewal based on risk and claims experience.

Is there a discount for multiple pets?

Yes. You’ll receive a 5% multi-pet discount for each additional pet added to your policy.

Can I cancel if I change my mind?

Yes—a 21-day cooling-off period applies. If you cancel within this period and haven’t made a claim, we’ll refund premiums (less applicable taxes/fees). You can cancel anytime thereafter per the policy terms.
